Moodle is a free software e-learning platform (also known as a Course Management System (CMS), or Learning Management Systems (LMS), or Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)). Moodle is designed to help educators create online courses with opportunities for rich interaction.

Moodle, and programs like it, are used by colleges, universities, and corporations to teach online courses and supplement regular classroom instruction.

At North Hollywood HS, we are using a Moodle program run by the LAUSD to supplement our classes by:

• providing a forum to bring written work into our classes
• promoting computer literacy
• giving our students an experience in online learning that will be valuable when they attend college
